Auschwitz-Birkenau, 1944. 48 hours in the life of Saul Auslander, a member of the Sonderkommando - a unit made up of Jewish prisoners forced to assist the Nazis in the atrocities of the Holocaust - shortly before the outbreak of rebellion. Submerged in a reality which is impossible to comprehend, with no chance of survival, Saul attempts to save whatever is left of the man he once was.
