'Traces of Rescued Memory'

01- 06.September1939

Commemoration of the 65th Anniversary of the outbreak of World War II. The ringing sound of Władysław Szpilman playing Chopin on Polish Radio was abruptly stopped by German bombing. The Galicia Jewish Museum invites you to an evening of remembrance of those tragic days. A display of war time photographs will be projected on a large screen. Polish posters will accompany reminiscences by residents of Krakow, preceded by a Chopin concert by internationally-renowned pianist Paweł Kubica, and readings of wartime poetry.Please join us in remembering the German invasion of 1 September 1939 and the surrender of Kraków on 6 September.
