MUSEUM INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME

The Galicia Jewish Museum internship and volunteering program offers an in-depth insight into the workings of a growing, dynamic, organization.

Internships are for a minimum of eight weeks and can take place throughout the year. Interns are fully immersed in the everyday workings on the Museum, allowing them to gain practical experience in a thriving cultural institution, whilst focusing on the preservation of Jewish memory and Holocaust memory in both a Polish and international context. Most often interns are invited to rotate between Museum’s departments, most commonly between the Education, Visitors Service, Curatorial Affairs and Operations Departments. All internships include working at the Visitors’ Welcoming Centre and guiding visiting groups through the exhibitions.

VOLUNTARY SERVICE

Volunteers of the Galicia Jewish Museum participate mainly in the work of three departments – the Department of Education, Visitor Service and Operations. The scope of the volunteer’s work for the museum is regulated by the voluntary service agreement.

The Galicia Jewish Museum hosts volunteers in cooperation with:

ASF Association in Poland

The association works closely with the organization Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste (ASF) from Germany. It undertakes initiatives aimed at historical education, especially related to the period of the Second World War and the effects of National Socialism, acts against racism, xenophobia and all kinds of discrimination, and undertakes actions for peace, tolerance and understanding. It pursues its goals by promoting and organizing international volunteering.
